We’ve watched them twirl and whirl around the stage for weeks, dazzling us with their daring dance moves. But tonight, a winner will be crowned on the summer reality smash, “So You Think You Can Dance.” And like most reality talent competitions, there will be only one lucky hoofer flitting away with the title of “America’s Favorite Dancer.”
While it’s hard to remember who won last year’s dance off, this year’s edition has taken flight in Buzz. We’re at the point where the final four contestants are household names with their own vociferous rooting factions. It kinda reminds us of another reality talent show that premiered during the summer months, only to blossom into a Buzz behemoth. Perhaps you’ve heard of “American Idol.” So, for us the question isn’t whether we think we can dance, but whether “Dance” will earn a coveted spot on Fox’s sked in next year’s all-important sweeps months a la “Idol.”
Queries on the show are up another 25% this week, solidifying its spot in our top 5 TV searches. Along with buzz on videos, the tour, and results, the show’s outperformed all other reality TV this summer.
As for tonight’s burning question, let’s just say it’ll be close. We checked buzz on the final four dancers, and while we know searches don’t count for votes, we do know they indicate a certain interest in the competitors.
