Now that the last waltz is over, we can loosen our bow tie and check out the Search spikes kicked up by the B- and C-listers of Dancing With the Stars. What was a guilty pleasure for ABC last summer has grown into a ratings and Search powerhouse during the course of its second season.
The show finished its second spin through the Buzz on top of our TV Search chart. Up 193% after Sunday’s two-hour finale, the campy throwback has twirled its way into the hearts of viewers, while its stars foxtrotted their way up the Buzz charts. Winner Drew Lachey jumped 271% and pulled in about 4 times as many searches as runner-up Jerry Rice.
But both dudes were eclipsed in Buzz by third-place finisher Stacy Keibler, who shook up enough searches to land in our top 20 queries. The long-legged blonde stunner did a jumpin’ jive and stirred up related Search spikes on “stacy keibler pics,” “stacy keibler boyfriend,” and the inevitable “stacy keibler hot.” Some confused folks mistook the WWE Diva for a treehouse-dwelling, cookie-making elf and sent searches on “stacy keebler” up 428%. Um, were you the same people busy searching on “dancing with the starts” (+246%)?
Other Search spikes following the award of the cheesiest trophy this side of a softball rec league included: “dancing with the stars results” (+397%), “drew lachey wedding” (+213%), “cheryl burke” (+202%), “tia carrere” (+173%), “lisa rinna” (+163%), “cheryl burke pics” (+147%), and “98 degrees” (+124%). We can’t help but wonder which celebs will dip into the salsa on the ballroom floor in season three…but we’ll be there.
