What do moms want on Mother’s Day? We compiled a buzz-worthy list of nine things that’ll warm her heart on her special day…
- The Perfect Start—Prop up Mom’s pillows and serve her breakfast in bed. A warm scone or pancakes will go a long way. Leave the Jimmy Dean for Father’s Day.
- Doing the Dishes—No mom wants to clean up a mess on her big day (or any day, for that matter). Make sure you know how to use a dishwasher or how to wash dishes by hand. No spots, please.
- Flowers—Any flowers will do as long as you’re the one doin’ the givin’, but right now, roses, stargazer lilies, tulips, and Gerbera daisies are popular.
- Letting Her Rest Her Feet—Consider springing for a foot massage or a relaxing pedicure. Perhaps she’d like a french pedicure or maybe even a spa pedicure.
- Doing All Your Chores—Don’t let Mom lift a finger. Check the chore chart or chore list to make sure you cover all the bases.
- A Card—This is paramount—no way around it. If you’re not sending an ecard or buying a card from Hallmark, make your own card or at the very least, print one out.
- The Gift—If you’re feeling flush, diamonds are still a girl’s BFF. But don’t despair if your wallet’s feeling light, a box of chocolates or a bottle of her favorite perfume should do the trick.
- Prepare the Feast—Whether you prepare an outdoor barbecue, an elegant brunch, or just a simple dinner, keep Mom out of the kitchen. If you’re truly stumped on what to make, try browsing Mother’s Day recipes.
- Lastly, Love—Mom just wants to know you care. Don’t forget a kiss (or a phone call if you’re not around).
With these simple tips and supplemental searches, we’re sure your Mother’s Day gestures will win her over. Here’s to Mom!
