Charmed as we are by Audrey Tautou, we were nevertheless surprised to see a huge spike in searches on the beautiful actress this week as she jumped an astounding 917% in Buzz.
Since her 2001 breakout in the whimsical Amelie, searches on Audrey have been fairly flat. She did make some minor Buzz waves in 2004 with A Very Long Engagement, but she’s been primarily appearing in movies in her native France, and these films usually don’t even cause a ripple in Search.
So why the recent spikes? We’re thinking it’s because of her role in the upcoming movie The Da Vinci Code, the big-budget adaptation of the runaway bestseller. Audrey’s trading in her French film cred to star in a Hollywood blockbuster opposite megastar Tom Hanks. With two months to go until the flick storms theaters, we’re sure to see much more of our favorite French ingénue in the Buzz and elsewhere.
